Tragically, only a few days after he filmed his part, 18-year-old Robert Knox, who played Marcus Belby in the film version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, was stabbed to death outside a pub in the London suburb of Sidcup. He died defending his younger brother from Karl Bishop, who was angry after losing a previous fight.

At the world première of Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, all of his former fellow cast members wore white ribbons in memory of him.
